BOSTON — It’s good to be back home after a wonderful tour of the UK. Here’s a very cool video of us playing on a London rooftop on the last day of the tour. Thanks to the fabulous OneTaste!
In other news, our hometown Tuesday night residency at the Lizard Lounge starts this Tuesday. We’re going to be trying out a bunch of new songs, and it should be quite the scene, as usual. Quick note: we are NOT playing on next Tuesday, May 1, but we’ll be back at it on May 8, May 15, and May 22. We recommend getting tickets in advance so it doesn’t sell out on you.
Meanwhile we are hard at work on our new CD, which is coming along great.
LONDON — Hi there! We are having a wonderful time here in the UK so far. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to see us in London last night at the Slaughtered Lamb. Sam seems to have survived! If you saw the show, you know what I mean.
Anyway, we are thrilled to have just added another London show! And it’s going to be a very cool one. We are playing at OneTaste this Sunday at the Bedford, along with some of London’s most intriguing rising stars. We’ll be performing in a proper globe theater! It’s a big honor. Doors are at 7:00pm and you can find more information/tickets here.
BOSTON — Thanks to everyone who made our West Coast tour so memorable! Especially everyone we met at Wintergrass. It was great to see the whole scene out in full force like that. We are back on the East Coast now, finishing the recording of our next album. It’s going great, and we’re aiming to mix it in early April.
Our next shows are later this month in Scotland and England. We are playing a house concert in Edinburgh, then heading up to the gorgeous Isle of Skye to play at the Celtic Connections Big Top in an event that also features Aoife O’Donovan, Roseanne Cash, the Civil Wars, Michael McGoldrick and many others. Then we’re going to do a week-long tour of England. All the details are on our shows page.
We are also pleased to have added another great summer festival to our tour schedule: we’ll be at ROMP in Owensboro on June 29-30, along with Old Crowe Medicine Show, Punch Brothers, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Greensky, and many others. Very excited about all this. See you around!
The next show on the tour will be on Wednesday, Feb. 22, up in Portland, Oregon. It’s a very special show with Scott Law, the terrific singer and guitarist. We are going to collaborate on a bunch of music with him, and we will also be doing a set of our own.
From there we are headed up to the one-and-only Wintergrass! Don’t miss it. We’ll be playing on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the festival and doing some workshops as well.
For all our Boston friends, we will be doing two shows at the Lizard Lounge on Thursday, Jan. 12 and Friday, Jan. 13. Della Mae opens up the first night and Margaret Glaspy’s got the second night. We’ll all be celebrating Sam and Dominick’s birthdays, so please come ready to party. Thanks!
Then we will be recording a new album for the rest of the month.
ENGLAND — The Deadly Gentlemen are off to Europe for a solid month! Yes, it’s happening. The first week is in England, then we play in Copenhagen, then do a full-on tour of Germany with Della Mae and Eli West and Cahalen Morrison. We will even be doing a show in Prague! Check out the details on our Shows page, and please help us spread the word.
This is our band’s longest tour ever, and we are all looking forward to playing every single night for awhile. We have lots of new songs to debut all along the way. And did we mention we are recording a whole new album in January? We’ve already started working on it.
And in case you haven’t seen it, here’s our most recent video introducing the band:
BOSTON, MA — Hi, everybody! First of all, thanks to everyone who came out to see our shows this summer. What amazing fans you are! We couldn’t ask for too much more. We just made a new video to introduce ourselves to people who don’t know us yet. It features a lot of live footage and interviews, which we hope you will find entertaining and informative. Here it is:
It’s exciting to be performing again; we’ve had a few weeks off since our last concert. In the meantime, we found a minute to go into the studio to start work on a new recording project. More on that soon.
In other news, we are definitely going to tour England in November. The first show is Nov. 21 in Leeds with the amazing band Lau. Can’t wait!
We are going to play several CD release shows this summer, the first of which will be in June. We’ll be starting out in the Northeast and making our way to Michigan. Check out the Shows page on our website for full details. We’ll keep announcing more dates as they get confirmed.
These concerts will feature the full five-piece lineup from Carry Me To Home playing music from that recording as well as a lot of new songs that have never been performed before. The official release date for Carry Me To Home is all set for June 22. Until then, you can only get it on our Bandcamp site or at our live shows.
And in other news, we’re working on a new video that we hope to post very soon.
We’re playing our first shows as the current five-piece configuration of the band – the same lineup that recorded Carry Me To Home. The first show is at the Green Door at St. Mary’s College in Maryland on April 1. (Note to our fans at St. Mary’s: this is NOT an April Fool’s joke. We are actually playing! Please come!)
The second show is at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA on April 2. Check our Shows page for full info.
We’ll be previewing a lot of songs from Carry Me To Home in anticipation of the CD’s official release on June 22, 2011. And we’re currently booking CD-release shows all over the US this summer – we’ll be announcing them in the coming weeks.
